At the end of March I had the privilege of shooting my first first communion. Andrew Olson is a great kid and I had a blast shooting the ceremony. It was held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menasha with Pastor Dee Sim. I hope Andrew continues his walk with God and grows stronger in his relationship with the Lord each day.

Congratulations Andrew!

It finally happened today at 9:53pm. I have been waiting for 9 years for this moment to come.
When I first bought my 2000 Jeep Wrangler it fell in love with me. It wanted to go everywhere I went. It was willing to take me into (and out of) some of the muddiest places I have ever been in. It has taken me and my wife on dates and to work everyday. It has been my faithful steed, always ready for the next adventure. I knew this moment would come. I kept thinking about it like a schoolboy waits for Santa, just to see him in person.
My Jeep has now finally safely carried me over 100,000 miles! Aside from regular maintenance and a few repairs from a couple of crashes (all not my fault) it has served me exceptionally well.
When I look at the Jeep I think of it as not just a means of transportation, but as a vessel that holds many memories, not unlike a photograph. Looking at the Jeep takes me back to different periods in my life, just like when I look at my wedding pictures. It is amazing how objects, such as Jeeps or pictures, touch us so deeply.
This is getting too deep, I’m outta here….

On September 19, 2007 I took Jamie’s senior photos for her. I knew a bit about her powerlifting from talking to her mother. I never knew what kind of powerlifter she was! Take a look at these impressive stats:
2008 State Champion - 242 class - Squat 475 lbs. - Bench 175 lbs. - Deadlift 410 lbs. - Total lifted 1060 lbs! WOW!
She could toss me around like a rag doll. But that is not all….. She was also the State Champion in 2007, 2006, and 2005. I am very honored to have taken Jamie’s pictures and hope she brings home the National Championship.
Since I didn’t have this fancy blog up last year I am going to post a few pictures of her here for your enjoyment. And remember guys….. she can outlift almost all of you.

This is the actual bar and weights she lifts. Just a bit more that I can… :) Good Luck Jamie!

Well I made it back from Vegas all in one piece. My wallet is a bit lighter and I have many photos to edit, but I am back home. Vegas is a great place to visit, but 5 days was too long. If it weren’t for the great people I met out in the desert it would have been a rough week. Once I sift through all the images I’ll be sure to post them up here for you.

Today will be the first day I ever set foot in Nevada, let alone Las Vegas. I will be attending the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International’s 2008 Convention & Trade Show. I will be traveling with David E Jackson and Adam Koepke. I am so stoked to not only get away from the monotony of my regular 8 to 4 but also to be a part of the 10,000 photographers descending on Vegas for the week. Look for daily updates from Vegas.
